reflection/video idea

The biggest success of my presentation was probably my website. The website helped to   visualize my ideas and support what I was trying to do. Basically, the website concisely displayed what I was trying to accomplish. I could have improved on my end product, but considering it was my first time screen printing anything I'd say it was fairly decent. I wanted to do more with my end product and have more to show, but I ran out of time and wasn't very motivated at the time either. On the school's end pretty much everything could have been improved. The clarity, organization, and specifics of senior project as a whole needs to be improved and everyone should be on the same page.

Honestly, I don't know what memory I have that could be turned into a video. Most of the people I hang out with do not go to RCHS, typically I'm only here for school.

Unlimited monies and stuffs

1. If I had unlimited money and resources then my project would be complete. Everyone qualified and able to go to college would be able to due to my finances. As for myself I'd probably buy all the things that people with unlimited money do and I would give back to the world.

2. With what I currently have I can attempt to set up a foundation and be able to get more people into college. Hopefully, more qualified students will be able to go to college with less financial struggle after the completion of my project.

capstone project conciseness

To lower tuition costs and make college more affordable for the middle and lower classes.

I can convey this concisely by presenting facts and my solutions in a few sentences.

My website could have several tabs each presenting facts, the problems with tuition costs, and how I propose to solve the problems.

SOPA fail

If SOPA is passed then would it not be possible for the government to control our media and create biased opinions throughout the country. The government would be able to censor websites and define what is "appropriate." While piracy is a problem, I feel that the goal of this bill is more for government power and being able to control our media. If SOPA is passed then our democratic country will become more authoritarian.

1.Opponents claim that it violates the First Amendment, is Internet censorship, will cripple the Internet, and will threaten whistle-blowing and other free speech actions
2. "The single biggest funder of circumvention tools has been and remains the U.S. government, precisely because of the role the tools play in online activism. It would be highly counter-productive for the U.S. government to both fund and outlaw the same set of tools."
3.Marvin Ammori has stated the bill might make The Tor Project illegal. Originally sponsored by the US Naval Research Laboratory, the Tor Project creates encryption technology used by dissidents in repressive regimes (that consequently outlaw it). Ammori says that the US Supreme Court case of Lamont v. Postmaster General 381 U.S. 301 (1965) makes it clear that Americans have the First Amendment right to read and listen to such foreign dissident free speech, even if those foreigners themselves lack an equivalent free speech right (for example under their constitution or through Optional Protocols under the United Nations International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights).

Presentation Theme

I plan to incorporate similar design elements throughout all aspects of my presentation. I plan to have a similar quote or theme that represents my project and will be reinforced throughout all parts of my presentation. Also, I plan to use similar fonts, color schemes, and layouts that will be identifiable to my project. The goal of incorporating a similar style into each of my pieces is to promote cohesiveness and allow for the audience to easily recognize my work. While I may not know all of the specifics at this point I do plan to have a theme to my work. In the future I plan to have a quote that will be seen in all of my work and a similar pattern and style that I will try to stick to. Also, I could make a logo or a symbol that represents my project that could be incorporated into everything I do.

My project movie structure

If my project were a 3 act movie the first act would introduce the growing problem of tuition rates in America, provide statistics, and first hand accounts. The second act would develop the problem more in depth and provide insight into how things got the way they were. Also, the second act would develop possible solutions and interviews with economic professionals and college presidents. The final act would pic a solution, propose an action plan, and project the expected results.

Presidential candidate: Barack Obama

"A world-class education is the single most important factor in determining not just whether our kids can compete for the best jobs but whether America can out-compete countries around the world. America's business leaders understand that when it comes to education, we need to up our game. That's why we’re working together to put an outstanding education within reach for every child" - Barack Obama

Barack Obama's view are consistent with the aim of my project. He sees that it is of the utmost importance to make education accessible. Also, he sees that it is very important to increase our education standards. The aim of my project is to lower higher education prices and make college an achievable goal for more Americans. Whether or not this goal is achieved is in large part due to the government's course of action in the upcoming years. It is important that our country's economic situation is addressed as well so that lowering education costs can be more possible. Barack Obama is obviously aware of our country's economic state and doing his best, whether or not the other candidates will handle these problems any better is yet to be seen.

Entry A-Statement of Intent

The goal of my project is to address the rising college tuition fees, make college more affordable, and provide more people with the opportunity to go to college. This is issue is important because it will directly effect our country's future. In large part, the future success of our nation is dependent upon the education of the up and coming generations. My intended career is finance, so trying to solve the tuition crisis seems an appropriate objective. Different economic policies and strategies relating to finance can be implemented to help lower tuition fees and make college more affordable. This project would directly give back to society at all levels by providing an affordable education and allowing our society to grow as a whole. Education is vital if we want to have a sustainable society. Socially, my project will directly effect the lives of many and hopefully progress society as a whole by providing an affordable education. Economically, lowering tuition costs  will ease the financial burden that college so often has and lower student loan debts and  indebtedness of college grads. Environmentally, with education being more accessible hopefully our society as a whole will be more aware and considerate of their affects on the world and environment
